MHLT PTO Minutes

December 5, 2005

The meeting was called to order by President Ellen Wynkoop at 3:35 pm.

The agenda was approved as presented.

There was a discussion regarding cookies for the 5-8 concert on December 12th.  Since there are 200 kids in choir and band, there is no need to call additional volunteers.   Instead, we will rely on band and choir members to bring a dozen cookies each.  They will be notified in their music classes.  Set up will take place after lunch.  PTO will purchase apple cider.

Dan Sosnoski came to take about the gym floor.  The floor needs to be refinished this summer.  Dan wanted to know if PTO is interested in going forward with funding a school mascot to be painted on the floor.  More information is needed before PTO wants to make a decision, including the cost and an OK from the school.

Campbell’s soup labels-Mr. Sosnoski made a request for $250 for additional controllers for the Jeopardy game already purchased from the Campbell’s soup labels.  Extra game cartridges can be purchased with the soup labels, but the controllers must be purchases separately.  The request was tabled until the January meeting.

Referendum-there will be an informational meeting December 6th in the multipurpose room to discuss the upcoming referendum.

Ellen Wynkoop has completed an inventory of PTO’s holdings.  There are still some sloppy joe’s frozen from open house for sale.  They can be purchased for $10 per container.   Most of the phone books have sold.

Treasurer’s report-Ellen Wynkoop moved and Marian Wenman seconded a motion to approve the treasurer’s report.  There was a discussion regarding the monies that need to be moved to the playground fund.

The date for the spaghetti dinner has been set for March 9th.  There will also be a silent auction and book fair.

The fun fair date has been changed due to Liz Chapes working on the referendum committee.   More information will be forthcoming.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:40 pm.  The next meeting has been set for January 9th.  Subsequent meetings will be held on the first Monday of each month.
