Welcome to the Minocqua J1 School District.   It was our goal that this web site will be easy to navigate and show case the great things that happen in our district. 

Our district is made up of three schools:  MHLT Elementary School, Creative Minds, and Woodland.  MHLT Elementary is a 4K– 8 school that has approximately 510 students enrolled.  Creative Minds is a grade 3-5 school which currently has enrollment of 38 students.  Woodland is a grade 6 – 8 school which currently has an enrollment of 50 students.  All three schools are housed in the same building.

Our school district has a strong partnership with the local communities that we serve.  These communities have been strong supporters of our school district and together we make this area a great place to live and work.  Our curriculum is at or above both state and national standards and we have many co-curricular offerings for our students.

The staffs of all three schools are committed to putting children first and delivering an excellent learning environment where every child can succeed.  We feel that our district is very progressive and we strive to be in the forefront of new educational trends.  In 2011-12 our district implemented Professional Learning Communities which centered our focus on what it takes to have every child succeed at Minocqua J1 and make sure that we have ongoing collaboration so together we can reach our goal of having every child learn.
