The 5th grade science classes have been exploring the concepts of "force and motion." In one of the activities, students were to explore the relationship between mass, velocity and momentum by causing a toy car to collide with a marble. They had to compare how far a marble rolls when struck by a toy car carrying two different loads and then how far the marble rolls when the toy car is released from two different ramp heights. They concluded that as an object's mass increases, so does its momentum.
