Minutes

March 6, 2006

 

  1. The meeting was called to order at 3:40 by president Ellen Wynkoop.
  2. Peg Wolff moved to approve the agenda.  Cathy Gelinas seconded the motion and the motion carried.
  3. The minutes from the February 6th meeting were approved.  The artist in residence program is $3400 instead of $2900 reported in the minutes due to the cost of materials.  Peg Wolff moved to approve the minutes.   Cathy Gelinas seconded the motion and the motion carried.
  4. The treasurer’s report was given by Lizzie Weitz.  There were numerous expenditures in the previous month.  There is $9119.90 on hand at this time.  There is also $9252.75 in the savings account designated for future playground purchases.  Cathy Gelinas moved to approve the treasurer’s report.  Ellen Wynkoop seconded the motion and the motion carried.
  5. Missoula Children’s theatre’s production was a success.  Dates are being discussed for next year.
  6. Liz Chapes and Chris Garcia have decided not to coordinate the Fun Fair this year.
  7. Requests:
    1. Pam Schoville would like to invite Olympian Chris Cook to our school as a guest speaker for 4th and 6th grade.  There was a discussion about possibly extending this opportunity to other grades.  Pam will contact him to see what he’s willing to do and what time is available. 
    2. Pam also requested funding to bring Martha Shouweiler, whose  son Chad  is running his dogs in the Iditarod with Dr. Ron Cortte.  The could discuss their experiences with dog training in Tomahawk.  A stipend of $200 was requested.  Sixth and seventh grade will benefit from these speakers. Mrs. Wolff said that Wolff club can fund this activity.
    3. Joanne Krueger will research the price of a portable stage for the multi-purpose room.  This could be used for the school play, classroom plays etc.   Joanne will bring more information on the expenses associated with this to the next meeting.

 

  1. The spaghetti dinner and silent auction will take place this week.  Plans are in place for both events.  There are many new items available this year for the silent auction.
  2. The cookie dough fundraiser will begin after spring break.  It will be a school-wide fundraiser.  The representative spoke to the faculty meeting last week. 
  3. The next meeting will be April 3rd at 3:30 pm.
